Writing poetry by night
In the glowing candle light
She tells her tale of suicide
hmmm
She likes the candle burning
Tears dripping from her face
Leaves behind a sadness trace
Depression felt within her heart
Her death will imitate her art
She likes the candle burning
Writing poetry by night
In the glowing candle light
From the drawer she takes a knife
To live her tale of suicide
She likes the candle burning

Labyrinth

You're creeping, you're crawling, you're stumbling and falling
No sounds at all but your own echo calling
Clawing at the walls, crying for salvation
So desperate and hopeless is your bitter damnation
You're weeping, you're bawling, at last you repent
But all ears are deaf, to hell you've been sent
No smiles and no laughter, no light and no love
You pay penance below for your sins above
You've damned yourself to this labyrinth of pain
With no chance of seeing daylight again
Nightmarish and nasty, so dark and so cold
Stalking you is unseen evil so old
You touch only needles, you're walking on pins
Piercing your flesh are all your past sins
Night horrors haunt you and fell creatures taunt you
It's godless, no illness, terrifying true
One terror grows as you clamber about
The certain knowledge that you will never get out
You've damned yourself to this labyrinth of pain
With no chance of seeing daylight again
No matter how hard you strive
You won't get out of here alive
And such a fair price to pay
Here out of heaven's sight you'll stay
No fire-pits, no corpses, no horns on his head
You'll forever wander in the darkness instead
You've damned yourself to this labyrinth of pain
With no chance of seeing daylight again
No matter how hard you strive
You won't get out of here alive
And such a fair price to pay
Here out of heaven's sight you'll stay

Verführerisch Verlockend

Du, die schwarze Witwe
Bittest mich in dein Netz hinein
Du stellst so 'ne schöne Spinne dar
Ich bin zu tief in dich versunken
Ich habe dir alles geglaubt
Jedes einzelne untreue Wort
Du hast mir den Glauben geraubt
Was, was kam heraus?
Was hast du dir dabei gedacht?
Vergiftet, verrottet, ganz allein
Ich konnt' ihr nicht widerstehen, nein
Einer von uns hat es rausgefunden
Was du mit uns allen treibst
Er hat versucht mich zu warnen
Doch meine Ohren waren taub
Verführerisch, verlockend und so schön
Eine schwarze Witwe holt mich ein
Vergiftet, verrottet, ganz allein
Ich konnte ihr nicht widerstehen, nein
Was, was kam heraus?
Was hast du dir dabei gedacht?
English translation:
You, the black widow, invite me into your web
With tales of love and future
You're unfaithful but I am supposed to already be blind
Everything is so beautiful here, so bright and dream-like
Everything appears so pure and true
I get addicted to your poison
You portray such a beautiful spider
I have sunken too deep into you, believing everything you said
Every single, untrue word
You have robbed me of my belief
What, what came out of it?
What were you thinking by it?
Do you bring all of us back to your place?
We fall in love with you, that is your power.
Seductive, tempting and so beautiful
A black widow lures me in
Poisoned, rotten, all alone
I could not resist her, no
One of us figured it out what you're doing to us all
He tried to warn me but it fell on deaf ears
Seductive, tempting and so beautiful
A black widow lures me in
Poisoned, rotten, all alone
I could not resist her, no
What, what came out of it?
What were you thinking by it?
Do you bring all of us back to your place?
We fall in love with you, that is your power.

Proud Morningstar fallen from high
God's favourite thrown from a gilded sky
Forever banished to a kingdom of fire
The fiend finds himself in a situation dire
Without strategy was it all in vain
Lost Happiness and Lasting Pain
Golden curls and feathers melt at his feet
While his bitter soldiers around him weep
The fiend gathers his baleful crew
This day, says he, God will for ever rue
Without strategy was it all in vain
Lost Happiness and Lasting Pain
Nothing will make God His throne abstain
Something else must make His power wane
Now with a strategy, now with a plan
Satan's vengeance through weak-willed Man
He will ever be God's greatest bane
Because our attention he does gain

Tongue Of Lies
05:06
|
|||
You slither up a tree of lies
And what you promise I despise
Whispering like the Snake in the Garden
My tested patience will now harden
Control is your only goal
Testing the waters then slipping in
Try to have everyone on your side
And behind your tongue of lies you'll hide
Inconsistencies buried in wit
Does someone know that you're talking shit?
Some nostalgia in between the lies
Is how you can still look me in the eyes
Control is your only goal
Testing the waters then slipping in
Try to have everyone on your side
And behind your tongue of lies you'll hide
I backed you every chance I had
Even when people said I must be mad
Faith in you has taken long to die
But I can see enough of you through my dead eye
Control is your only goal
Testing the waters then slipping in
Innocence lost, a part of me dies
You will swallow your tongue of lies

My Hopeful Wings
05:59
|
|||
An angel looks on with a gaze that's hollow
Pride is what I must learn to swallow
The truth is something I must not fear
But now it's not what she wants to hear
Distant voices whisper that it isn't right
But they haven't my heart, haven't my sight
Here in vain optimism I will stay
This pain's a price I'll gladly pay
An angel attacks me from the past
She burns my skin, these scars will last
Her words rip off my hopeful wings
Which could carry me away to better things
Forced to watch as I'm torn apart
But my cries of pain don't reach her heart
She listens closely to what I say
But shakes her head and looks away
A crown of thorns is placed upon me
And I'm raised high so that all can see
Behold! A man whose love drove him mad
Behold! A man who has lost what he had
An angel smiles colder than I have seen
And I curse all that which could have been
Yet I must suffer if I'll be free
Pull the veil from my eyes so I can see
With time will fade these ropes and chains
All I'll have left are bloody stains
Such needless tears from pointless pursuits
This dying tree will bear no fruit
A crown of thorns is placed upon me
And I am raised high so that all can see
Behold! A man whose love drove him mad
Behold! A man who has lost what he had

Häftling
05:20
|
|||
Was bedeuten unschuldig und schuldig?
English Translation
I've been waiting for years out of your sight
But this is still not my home
I have withstood for so long these walls of stone
A flight into the homeland, I would risk it
There's no compromise, the goals are too different
Death approaches, the people have chosen
There's nothing more to say between us
Where is now my safe haven?
A mistake made with evil thoughts
So many years spent a prisoner
But if you are indeed so big and powerful
Then you should have nothing more to fear
I'm waiting here to die and reflect on my undoing
What do innocent and guilty even mean?
What is now considered evil was once right
There's no compromise, the goals are too different
Death approaches, the people have chosen
There's nothing more to say between us
Where is now my safe haven?
A mistake made with evil thoughts
So many years spent a prisoner
But if you are indeed so big and powerful
Then you should have nothing more to fear
Prisoner
A mistake made with evil thoughts
So many years spent a prisoner
But if you are indeed so big and powerful
Then you should have nothing more to fear

The Cold
06:21
|
|||
All these pictures that I over-analyse
Seem reflected in your disillusioned eyes
Your glowing smile has long since faded away
And it's my fault I'm afraid to say
How can I make amends
If I can not comprehend?
I can only ever disappoint
With this glaring absence of loving warmth
Emotionless and heartless so I'm told
No wonder that you want to get out of the cold
How can I make amends
If I can not comprehend?
If I can not just pretend
That the cold may ever end
The cold may never end...

The sweet and innocent maid from the town of Füssen is bid by the elusive and eccentric Graf Ludwig to replace his last girl-servant who mysteriously and inexplicably disappeared, feared dead. Upon entering the courtyard of the castle tucked into the Alps’ foothills, Anja smells an unfamiliar stench and senses the presence of many fleeting shapes whilst thousands of unseen eyes trace her every move. The letter, written by an ancient hand, instructs her to her quarters whence she should begin her duties. At dusk, whilst sweeping in the eastern wing, the wall behind her creeks open and the cobwebs shiver in the phantom breeze.
And the Raven flies high in the sky
It's his black flight
It's his dark flight of doom
Through the door she passes into a dimly lit stairwell. Down, down, down she goes and in the dark, the creaking of the wooden steps weakens her naive notion of curiousity. She reaches the crypt and with a strip torn from her peasant dress she proceeds into this dismal cavern. The stench of death almost overcomes her as she reaches an ornate coffin which shimmers in the glow of four and twenty candles. Waves of fear and doubt sweep across the Fräulein. Horrified she regards the lid slide slowly back and Graf Ludwig opens his yellow eyes to meet her all-too-inquisitive gaze.
And the Raven flies high in the sky
It's his black flight
It's his dark flight of doom
